Kennon Green Enterprises, LLC is a private company engaged in a number of diverse industries. Through a collection of relationships such as wholly owned subsidiaries, affiliates, private partnerships, and marketable securities, it aims to build the wealth of its shareholders by focusing on acquiring and creating businesses that generate high returns on non-leveraged equity employed in the model of Berkshire Hathaway, The Ruffin Companies, Markel, Loews, and Alleghany. The company became active during the second quarter of 2009 and is registered as a Missouri Limited Liability Company.
The corporation was founded by Joshua Kennon, a successful private investor who has been the long-term finance guide at About.com, a division of The New York Times, and author of the bestselling book The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Investing, 3rd Edition, and his business partner, Aaron Green, one of the most respected graphic design artists and search engine optimizers at work today. The business began in 2007 with a single online e-commerce letterman jacket company, Mount Olympus Awards, LLC that had been launched several years prior and quickly grew into one of the largest custom apparel retailers in its field. It was this stream of cash that provided the first funds for redeployment into other fields and still serves as a crown jewel in the portfolio with its work profiled in national publications such as GQ magazine, on the Disney channel, and in window displays for prominent retailers such as Ralph Lauren.
The company launched KennonHomeAccessories.com on January 1st, 2009 as a division of Mount Olympus Awards. In July of 2009, it began operations for Cherrywood Capital Group, LLC, which immediately launched JustBabyGifts.com. On September 1st, 2009, MOATeamSupply.com, the newest addition to the Mount Olympus Awards family was established. On January 1st, 2010, WonderfulWeddingFavors.com became active as a part of Cherrywood Shops.
Management is in the process of drastically increasing the size and depth of the Kennon Green Enterprises corporate website. In the future, we anticipate this will serve as a central clearing house for all of our businesses, including the capital management and investing division overseen by Mr. Kennon. Our goal, subject to shareholder approval of each limited liability operating business and contingent upon the input of our legal and financial council, is to merge all of our activities under a single, consolidated holding company by no later than January 1st, 2012. Until that time, the family of businesses will continue to be run as individual corporations, with their own management teams, operating agreements, shareholder bases, and tax filings.
