When available, we strive to sell American manufactured products made by American workers in American factories. Although this isn't always possible, since opening our doors, 100% of our varsity letters, embroidered chenille patches, and other letterman jacket awards have been made right here in the USA. Furthermore, a substantial portion of our varsity jacket sales have historically gone to American based sporting goods companies.
When we started our company, we made a conscience decision to support American made products manufactured or sold by American based companies, preferably in American domiciled factories. This wasn’t always easy and it’s not always possible. This program, however, has wildly exceeded our expectations. To date, every one of the varsity jacket awards such as chenille letters, embroidered chenille patches, chenille mascots and emblems, and chenille name patches have been made by factories located in the USA by American workers.
Up until the recent closing of DeLong Sportswear, we were able to say the same for our letterman jackets themselves. Today, a majority of our suppliers are still American based companies but the market is rapidly consolidating and we are actively working on finding additional sources of domestically manufactured garments. For customers that specifically want imported jackets, we can help accommodate you because we believe that at the end of the day, our job is to serve you and your needs.
Why do we do this when it would be easier to source our products from overseas like most of our competition? We believe that we live in the greatest market based economy in the world and it has rewarded us richly for pursuing our dream and turning a small start-up into one of the nation’s most successful niche sporting goods companies. As a result, we want to show our appreciation and keep our money here at home. That’s how we want to do business and live our lives. Given our economies of scale, we are often able to achieve better prices for you, our customer, despite having the products made domestically. Call it a perk of being one of the biggest (and we certainly believe, the best) letterman jacket companies out there.
